Support for SQL Server 2012 SP1

Great news. Microsoft now supports SQL Server 2012 sp1. This applies for ConfigMgr 2007 and ConfigMgr 2012.
Be sure to install cumulative update 2 or higher, and this will work. I have tested it on a standalone machine:

  • Host operating system: Windows Server 2012
  • SQL Server 2012 Standard ENU, with SP1
  • Cumulative Update 2

When installing SQL Server 2012, it got the impression that SP1 got installed, but it did not. Doublecheck the error log of SQL Server to check the version number, to make sure.
My installation of ConfigMgr 2012 did not pass the prerequisite checker, so that made med troubleshoot.

I had to install SQL 2012 SP1 again, and add the CU2. Then the Configmgr prereq checker will let you install CM12.
Enjoy 🙂
